As I come to the end of my 5th month as District Governor of this amazing District, the pace is still constant as I brought up my total clubs visited to 49 of our 61.   As has been the case in previous months these visit continue to inform and inspire me and I am so pleased to see that my message of creating belonging and collaboration being so well accepted.
At a number of visits I have had the opportunity to be involved in a number of inductions including inducting 2 new members at Yarraville taking them from 4 to 6 so a 50% increase and also inducting a new member at Rochester which made her the 9th member and the 6th adding since this time last year making a 200% increase.
It was great to be able to attend both the joint 9790/9800 Youth Exchange Camp held in Beechworth for both current inbound students and future outbound students and the National Youth Science Forum Briefing Session.   Both events provided great support and information to all who attended and my thanks to those on the Committees who put these two great events together.

It would not be Rotary Foundation Month without attending the Paul Harris Fellow Breakfast put on by Rotary Central Melbourne.   Another hugely successful event well done to all involved.

On Monday 24th November I went up to Canberra to attend the National Final for the Rotary Emergency Services Community Awards which brought together winners from ACT, NSW & Victoria.   We were fortunate to have Barry Randall from Victoria Police take out the National Award for the paid category. Congrats to all involved in both the Victorian and National Committees for RESCA.

I brought the month to an end with a long day on Saturday 29th November by first attending a walk to Say No to Domestic & Family Violence organized by Liz Bannon from Bendigo and then dropped by the Castlemaine Truck Show on my way back to check out the sights, sounds and amazing smells.   Once again a great event and well done to all involved.

As we start the countdown to Christmas and the New Year I appreciate everyone has plenty to do and will take the chance to catch up with family and friends.    If you haven’t already done so take the opportunity to buy a Christmas Cake or Pudding or attend a market and importantly enjoy any and all Christmas functions you attend.

Have an enjoyable Christmas and a safe start to 2026.
