Once again Rotarians and the community have demonstrated their generosity at a time of tragedy. Following the disastrous bus roll-over on 11th June, resulting in the death or injury of several guests returning from a Hunter Valley wedding, a fund was set up to support victims of the crash.

The Board of RAWCS, the Rotarians of the Singleton Sunrise Rotary Club and the committee set up to manage the fund distribution, are all volunteers and very much appreciate your support in extending community compassion, through the fund, to those most impacted by the crash.

The committee includes members of the Singleton Sunrise Rotary Club, Singleton Council, Singleton Roosters AFL Club, Warrandyte-Donvale Rotary Club, and the Warrandyte Cricket Club. The immediate beneficiaries have been identified and the funds are in the process of being distributed directly to them.

The fund is being managed though our charity, the Rotary Australia Benevolent Society and I wish to assure you that all funds, apart from our 2.75% (incl GST) administration fee, will be remitted to the eligible recipients. Those eligible are defined as those people who were directly affected by the bus crash (on the bus or the four wedding guests following in a car that witnessed the crash and rendered immediate aid) and their immediate family (parents, partners, siblings, and children).

Special provision will be made for the two boys who sadly became orphans as a result of this terrible event.
