The Clocktower venue in Moonee Ponds was filled with voices and accents from across the globe as 250 Rotarians gathered for a musical evening as one of the Club Hospitality events during RICON23.
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Flemington Kensington, and supported by the Rotary Clubs of Essendon, Footscray and Keilor East, this was an opportunity for international visitors to experience the delights of the Moonee Valley and Melbourne musical scene.

Featuring world famous local singer Silvie Paladino and her band, and local musicians Wendy Stapleton and the Australian Women’s Choir, the evening kicked off with “Solid Rock”, moved through “Memories” and several musical melodies before finishing with the combined voices in “We are Australian!”
The performers received a standing ovation at the end with many of the international guests delighted at the quality of the event. They then enjoyed drinks and finger food as they chatted with local Rotary members and shared stories, experiences, and contacts.
Danny Pearson, MP for Essendon, and Mayor Pierce Tyson greeted guests and thanked them for joining the convention, visiting Melbourne, and choosing to explore Moonee Valley.
Rotary Flemington Kensington’s President Shraddha Sharma paid tribute to event organiser Sandy Belcher, and the team of Rotarians who assisted. She also thanked Moonee Valley Council for the Arts Grant which subsidised the event, and the Clocktower staff for their assistance.
