As February comes to a close, we reflect on a month dedicated to Peace and Conflict Resolution and the incredible work being done across our District. We continue to seek applicants for the prestigious Peace Fellowships—if you know someone passionate about fostering peace, now is the time to encourage them to apply. To give our nominees the best possible chance of success, we are grateful for the support of PDG Murray Verso and the committee, who are working to help prepare and guide candidates through the application process.  Refer to their story below for more information.

District Conference/Impact Summit – Join Us for an Inspiring Event! Early bird registrations have now closed, but there’s still time to be part of an unforgettable District Conference and Impact Summit! This event will bring together inspiring speakers, thought-provoking discussions, and meaningful fellowship. If you haven’t registered yet, consider joining us—we want as many people as possible to experience this incredible weekend. If you would like to showcase your projects in the Rotary Showcase/House of Friendship, an Expression of Interest Form is available on the summit website—be sure to submit yours!

To assist clubs in participating, our District will be coordinating a truck to transport materials needed for the Rotary Showcase, including all club teardrop banners. If you're attending the conference, we’ll be in touch soon to ensure your club’s banner is represented.

Special Opportunity for Young Rotarians and Rotaractors

We are excited to offer young Rotarians and Rotaractors the chance to receive a grant from the District to attend the Rotary International Convention in Calgary or the Impact Summit in Adelaide. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with the global Rotary community, gain valuable insights, and expand your leadership journey. If you or someone you know is interested, be sure to apply!

Celebrating Achievements and Milestones This month, we celebrated the achievements of many in our Rotary family. Congratulations to Asher Reichman, this year’s New Generations Study Exchange recipient! We can’t wait to see the impact Asher will make.

A huge milestone was reached by Rotary Wyndham as they celebrated their 40th Anniversary—a testament to decades of dedicated service and commitment to the community.

A special congratulations to Christina McCormack for receiving the Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service. Your dedication to The Rotary Foundation is truly inspiring!

Welcoming Our New Members This month also saw the welcoming of many new members! We held our first New Members event in Kangaroo Flats, and it was wonderful to connect and celebrate their Rotary journey. If you missed it, another event will be held on 16 March for our Metro new members—mark your calendars!

Youth Exchange – Hosts Needed! One of the highlights of February was hearing from our returning Youth Exchange students. Their experiences abroad have not only enriched their lives but also strengthened Rotary’s global connections. As we look ahead, we are actively seeking host families for our inbound students. If you’re interested in opening your home to an international student, please reach out!

Thank You for the Hospitality With my official Governor visits now complete, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to every club that welcomed me with open arms. Your generosity in hosting myself, Alex, and Nina has been truly appreciated. The conversations, laughter, and shared commitment to making Rotary an irresistible experience have made this journey all the more special.

As we turn the page to March, let’s continue embracing the Magic of Rotary and creating lasting impact together!
