During this month, we celebrated three new clubs joining District 9800, bringing creativity, energy, and connection to our Rotary family. From retired police officers finding purpose with Balwyn Blue, to global collaboration with Melbourne-Manila, and music-driven passion with the Rotaract Music Makers, there’s something new for everyone.

A lively joint Charter Night with music, cake, and fellowship set the tone for what’s possible when ideas and passion come together. Membership Month is the perfect reminder: every member has the power to spark new opportunities and help Rotary grow in exciting ways.

What an incredible start to the Rotary year, and right in time for Membership Month! District 9800 has already welcomed three brand-new clubs into our Rotary family. Each one brings a burst of creativity, energy, and innovation, showing us just how many different ways people can connect through Rotary.

Rotary Satellite Club of Balwyn Blue

Chartered by the Rotary Club of Balwyn, this club provides a place of connection and purpose for retired members of the police force. Its mission is to continue serving the community while fostering camaraderie among individuals with shared experiences.

Rotary Club of Melbourne-Manila

Chartered by the Rotary Club of Activate Victoria, this unique club bridges cultures and continents. With members in Melbourne (Australia), Manila (Philippines), and Las Vegas (USA), it exemplifies the international reach of Rotary and the strength of global collaboration.

Rotaract Club of Music Makers

Also chartered by the Rotary Club of Activate Victoria, this cause-based Rotaract club unites members through their love of music and creativity. With service to the Rotary Foundation at its core, it showcases how passion and purpose can combine to make meaningful impact.

To celebrate the chartering of both the Rotary Club of Melbourne-Manila and the Rotaract Club of Music Makers, a joint Charter Night was held. The evening featured live music, cake, and plenty of fellowship, a fitting way to launch clubs built on creativity, connection, and global service.

These clubs highlight the energy and potential that comes with Membership Month, reminding us that Rotary continues to evolve in line with the passions and vocations of its people.

Looking Ahead

Membership Month reminds us that the strength of Rotary lies in its people. New clubs don’t appear by chance, they begin with members who see an idea worth pursuing and take the step to bring it forward. Rotary’s processes are designed to make that step swift, achievable, with support available every step of the way.

As we look to this Rotary year and the years ahead, the opportunity is clear: any member can help shape the future of Rotary by starting conversations, exploring new concepts, and championing the cultures and causes that matter to them. By empowering members to create spaces where more people feel they belong, we not only grow in number, but also in diversity, relevance, and impact.

With Gratitude

A sincere thank you to the sponsoring clubs, leaders, and all who came along to the charter celebrations. Your support made these milestones even more meaningful. For our new clubs, having fellow Rotarians in the room helped open doors, build connections, and feel part of something bigger right from the start. For those who attended, these moments also reignited that special spark, the feeling of why we joined Rotary in the first place. It’s this shared energy and fellowship that keeps our Rotary family thriving.
