Helen Keller’s words ring loud and clear with the Rotary Club of Keilor East and Rotary Passport Melbourne!! Joined by the Rotary Clubs of Melbourne, Balwyn and with support from Rotary District 9800 and The Rotary Foundation, two District International Grants are being implemented in Siem Reap Cambodia. Each grant is supporting the construction of WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) infrastructure at four rural schools, bringing clean water and sanitation solutions to more than 3,000 students and surrounding community members!
Early this year, RC Keilor East President Debra Sloggett and Secretary Helen Penna had the opportunity to visit Tuek Chum Secondary School, Snual Secondary School, Prasathnar Secondary School and Varin High School and meet with school Directors, teachers and students.

Rotary Passport Melbourne President Jennie Franklin and Charter President Maria Hicks OAM, as well as Past President Aviv Palti and member Jessica Palti also visited the four schools supported by RPM – Koul Secondary School, Rumduol Secondary School, Kouk Kandal Secondary School and Svay Sa Secondary School.

Our participating partner, the Cambodia Rural Students Trust NGO (CRST) is overseeing the installation and together with members of the Rotaract Club of Siem Reap recently signed the WASH for Education Project Agreements with the school Directors and village and community leaders. Construction is due to begin in the coming weeks!
