Hello Rotarians and Friends of our District

Thank you to all the Clubs who have hosted Maureen and me in the past few weeks, which has given me first hand experience of the amazing breadth of the projects and activities undertaken by clubs in our District more pronounced as the Victorian economy opens up post Covid.

Fifteen-year-old Rashmi dreams of being a doctor. When Interplast last met the Sri Lankan schoolgirl, she was busy studying for her Ordinary-Level examinations, undertaken in the final two years of high school.  

Aiming to enrol in a biology stream for her higher studies, Rashmi’s goal was to become a doctor, and help others, as she has been helped over so many years.

Western Emergency Relief Network (WERN) has been announced as the Community Program of the Year by Keep Victoria Beautiful Sustainable Cities 2021 Awards.

Busyfeet Melton has just been announced the Winner of the Victorian Sustainability Award in the category of Social Well Being. Congratulations Annette Butterworth for initiating the BusyFeet in Melton and thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who make this program possible and to Rotary Caroline Springs for their support of the program that allows the special children to enjoy this wonderful program each week. District 9800's Dream Fifteen raised $3,695 for Pinchapoo's project SMASHING #HYGIENEPOVERTY and helped to break two Guinness World Records: the most tables used to make a word (#hygienepoverty) as well as the most hygiene packs, packed in one hour. We did it!

The deadline to register at the reduced rate is fast approaching.
