Easter, District Conference and Out and about in District 9800
Hello Everyone,
I hope you have all enjoyed the delightfully warm and sunny Easter long weekend.  It is wonderful to see people out and about enjoying the plethora of community events and holiday activities adding a sense of normality to our lives after the last two years of Covid restrictions.
Next weekend is the District Conference in Albury. After “dodging” many Covid challenges, we are all set for an enjoyable weekend, the first genuinely physical District 9800 Conference since 2019.
Over the last few weeks traveling around our District, Maureen and I have participated in many community activities and celebrations as we, as Rotarians, manage living with the new Covid environment. From Rotary in Action community showcase in the West to the Classic Car show in Bayside to club birthday parties, it has been a busy time in District 9800.
Albury - Here We Come
To the many who will be heading up the Hume at the end of this week, we look forward to welcoming you to Albury for our Conference 2022.
50 Mentors for International Students
Coming out of two years of lockdowns and restricted ability to engage in humanitarian projects it is now a great time to stretch our wings and get back into action. And there is probably no better project, for the times, than the new international student mentoring program. A great opportunity for ALL members to get more engaged in a high-impact project.
The brave, the old and the new all with a showstopping view
When the Rotary Club of Essendon members recently celebrated the 87th Anniversary of its Charter, it was in grand style at the Royal Victorian Yacht Club in Williamstown.
With an unbeatable view of Melbourne behind the yachts, boats and ships across the calm waters of Port Philip Bay, the members made the most of an event that had been two years in the making.
Serenity and Sunshine for RYPEN Camp leadership weekend
It was such a breath of fresh air to be at Doxa Camp in the scenic countryside near Daylesford to encourage the RYPEN attendees explore their potential, and so heart-warming to witness these 15-17 year old students participating in the many activities.
