With less than two weeks of the Rotary year to go, and similar to the last Networker, I thought I would highlight some of the District events that Maureen and I have had the privilege to participate in during the month of June. This included MUNA, Wynspeak, Bayspeak, and the 'End of an Era' celebration for Rotary Glen Eira. And coming up on Saturday we have our District Changeover.
Following the success of the inaugural event last year, Bayspeak 2022, launched on May 10th with the first heat covering a wide and stimulating range of topics, and the final held on the 8th June.
This Rotary Youth initiative involves a public speaking competition for Bayside secondary colleges and sets out to boost the self-confidence and communication skills of students at all levels.
Rotary Wyndham and the Werribee River Association have joined forces to help improve the amenity and sustainability of the Werribee River eco-systems.

Rotary Glenferrie’s Lift the Lid Charity Golf Day at Kingston Heath Golf Club was a spectacular success, raising more than $36,000 for mental health research through Australian Rotary Health.
On Tuesday 24 May 120 golfers plus another 50 dinner guests enjoyed a magnificent day, bathed in glorious sunshine, at Kingston Heath Golf Course.

Rotary North Balwyn (RCNB) members Cris Yudi and Rowan McClean were concerned about the newly arrived refugee families who had escaped Afghanistan following the take-over of the country by the Taliban in August 2021.
I am often asked, “Why did you join the Paul Harris Society?”
Its recent lunch on 3rd June which I attended with Anne and Peter Frueh also from Rotary Balwyn, and hosted by PDG Julie Mason, could provide an answer to that question.
