It is often said that, as Rotarians, we know the great work we do but don’t do a great job of sharing this with our broader community. It’s little wonder therefore that we’re probably missing out on attracting many people across our communities who could make worthwhile contributions as volunteers, members, or even as financial supporters.
If we are to benefit from the capacity people of our communities have, then we must give them a reason to want to be part of the work we do or to join our organisation in some way. How many times have you listened to an inspiring speaker, watched a clip about a project that has tugged at your heartstrings, or witnessed a disadvantage that you’d much prefer didn’t exist? We’ve long been doing work in these fields but, by not telling our stories on a broader scale, we’re missing the potential of being more effective than we already are.
I want to encourage you to engage with the Networker team to submit regular short stories that will INFORM about the breadth of activity clubs in our district are engaged in. Your story will hopefully detail the IMPACT created by the work undertaken and consequently will INSPIRE others to explore how they too can make a difference through their efforts.
We have a wonderful Public Image team that is only too willing to help you put your story together. They are listed on our District Website. Please feel free to reach out to them for support.
